For 30 Years, OCHR HAS BEEN no stranger to resolving conflicts, facing down hate or leveling the playing field

Since 1991,

we’ve been here, pulling people together, facilitating respectful dialogue and sharing practical tools to build understanding across cultural divides. This in-the-moment work never stops: The mentoring and engagement, the bridge building, the ongoing fight to make antiracism a permanent driver of our local conscience.

Yet day by day, act by act, we’re building a future where all can thrive without limits or judgements, and contribute to a healthy, equitable community.

A Recording of the May 21 , 12-1pm | Virtual Anniversary Celebration

Join us for an exciting Virtual Launch to celebrate this 30th year together! We’ll look back at our accomplishments and more importantly, share our vision for fostering open dialogue, acceptance and love in our community, now and always.

featuring:

Keynote Speaker, john a. powell
Director, Othering and Belonging Institute & Professor of Law, African American, and Ethnic Studies, University of California at Berkeley. Listen to Professor powell’s work on building an inclusive we and learn about the framework of belonging, based on the belief that there is no “other” and there is no “them”—with that belief, there instead becomes the work to build the new “us”.

Guest Artist, Amanda Lee Harris-Gibbs
Watch Amanda, a talented, multimedia artist, create an original work of art LIVE during our event—ultimately capturing the spirit of “now and always”. The painting will be auctioned after the 5/21 launch!

Guest Artist, Arielle Estoria
The acclaimed spoken word artist, speaker and author will perform an original piece expressing OC Human Relations’ 30-year impact.
