No son verdes ni descargan rayos eléctricos de sus manos para ahuyentar el crimen, pero Victoria Hipólito, María Rosario Rubio y Deborah de la Cruz, son un trío de mujeres dispuestas a luchar por el bienestar de los niños y sus vecindarios.Las tres líderes del oeste de Anaheim, forman parte del Grupo de Padres en Acción, un agrupación de residentes que se enfoca en mejorar la calidad de vida de la comunidad a través de juntas comunitarias, limpiezas, caminatas por la paz y el reclutamiento de vecinos para hacer el cambio.

Fullerton neighborhoods find KKK fliers on their lawns

The Ku Klux Klan is back to delivering a bitter message with a sweet confection. In January, on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, the KKK left fliers promoting the white supremacist organization around a Santa Ana neighborhood. Each flier was tucked in a plastic bag along with a rock and candy. Now, Fullerton police are investigating KKK fliers, also packaged with candy, found in two neighborhoods on Sunday.

Trial is scheduled to start Dec 2 for two ex-Fullerton police officers charged in the high-profile beating death a mentally ill homeless man. Kelly Thomas, 37, had been a longtime fixture on the streets of Fullerton. His death in July 2011 shook the town and touched off a wave of soul-searching on how the city of 135,000 deals with homelessness.
